BASKETBALL.
FORMATION OF OLD GIRLS’ CLUB. A meeting of those interested in the formation of an Old Girl’s Basketball Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last evening. Miss O. R. Sutherland presided over a good attendance.
Considerable enthusiasm was shown for the project and it was decided that a club be formed and that the membership bo open (1) to old girls of the Wairarapa High'School and (2) to old girts of other secondary schools who had attended .such a school for two years. Jt wias agreed that the colours should be those of the High School—Boyal blue, black and gold. Miss Zena Ackerman was elected club captain and it was decided to endeavour to enter two senior teams in this year’s Wairarapa competition. Miss Ackerman and Miss Jean Caverhill are to represent the club at the annual meeting of the Basketball Association. Matters relating to subscription and dress were discussed and dealt with. Misses Ackerman, Betty Gregor and the coach were elected as a selection committee.
It is hoped to hold the first practice on Monday next at 6.45 p.m. in the Y.M.C.A. Gymnasium.
