GOOD SEASON.
GREYTOWN HERD-TESTING ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. At the annual meeting of the Greytown Farmers’ Union Herd-Testing Association the chairman (Mr. L Thompson) expressed satisfaction at the past season ’-s workings. The balance-sheet was adopted. The secretary reported that a second “group” had been completed for the coming season, whilst a third “-group” was partly filled. Messrs L. J. Thompson, A. M. Haigh and. A. H. Humphrey were appointed delegates to attend the annual meeting of the Wairarapa Herd-Testing Association. The calf-marking introduced during the past season had proved very successful, a total of 120 heifer calves being marked. Mr. A. M. Haigh, who in May attended a meeting at Wellington held by the Government in conjunction with Herd-Testing Federations, gave a resume of the proceedings. Mr. Haigh informed the meeting that the GovernIment were with them for the advancement of herd-testing, and would offer facilities, where possible, to encourage aid foster the movement.
