SPEED BOAT RACING.

AMERICAN WINS LAST HEAT SEGRAVE AHEAD ON POINTS MIAMI BEACH, March 21. Miss America VH., entering the final heat of the challenge race to-day, negotiated all six laps far ahead of Major Segrave’s Miss England, averaging approximately sixty miles an hour; Segrave entered to-day with Miss England damaged in eighteen places from yesterday’s race, and therefore made not attempt to do more than loaf about the course, and developed leaks While doing that. However, on the point system of scoring yesterday Segrave made two points for finishing, while Wood, unable to finish, scored nothing. To-day Wood won the race for two points, but Segrave finished the course Without attempting to race Wood, and made one point, totalling three to Wood's two for the entire race. Segrave averaged a little over 42 miles an hour to-day, for Miss England was leaking throughout the race.—(Australian Press Association.)
