MOTORISTS’ AFFAIRS.
WAIRARAPA AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION KOPUARANGA RAILWAY CROSSING The monthly meeting of the Wairaxapa Automibile Association was held at Greytown on Thursday evening, Mr B. W. Roydhouse presiding. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £707 10s 9d, and accounts amounting to £95 12s lid were passed for payment. Twenty-four new members were elected. A member visiting England was supplied with a letter to the Royal Automobile Association. It was decided to suggest to the Main Highways Board that the corners at the junction of Park and Carter’s Road, and Nix’s and Woodlands Road be rounded. The report of the service officer showed a wide range of activities. The Railway Department is to be asked to erect an adequate warning signal at the dangerous railway crossing at Kopuaranga. The Pahiatua County Council granted permission to erect sign-posts on their roads, and congratulated the association on the excellent sign-posting already carried out in the county.
