COSY THEATRE “UNCLE TOM’S CABIN” Announced as the greatest production. in the history of motion pictures, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” will have its Masterton premiere at the Cosy Theatre to-morrow night. Over two millions was spent in making of Universal’s photo-dramatisation of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s novel, taking nineteen months for the actual filming. More than five thousand players appear in the massive production in support of a east of all-star magnitude, or nearly two years l the press' has acclaimed the screening of this picture. “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” fulfilled a life-long ambition of the producer, when he completed the production. The poignant love story of Eliza and George permeates the massive production, a beautiful contnase to the epic sweep of the powerful story. The cast is a noted one, headed by such famous artists as, Marita ischer, Arthur Edmund Carew, George Siegmann, Lucien Littlefield; John Roche, Gertrude Astor, Nelson McDowell, James B. Lowe, and a host of others. “RED LIPS” “Red Lips,” Universal’s (sparkling story of college life, is the attraction at the Cosy Theatre to-night. Charles Rogers and Marian Nixon are the costarring team. This is tho. first appearance together of the youthful film couple and they make an admirable pair of lovers. Their romance in this jvimful comedy has been called a “song 'of youth. ” Miss Nixon plays the role of a carmined flapper, her first part in which she is not a “nice girl.” Rogers is an unsophisticated college frestoan. “Red Lips” is an amazingly frank picture, but told by Director Melville Brown with understanding. He portrays youth as few directors have been able to do, it is said. He makes it vivid and real and yet he never exaggerates. A cast of Hollywood beaunes and juveniles supports Rogers and Miss Nixon. Hayden Steveriison, c'.ach of the “Collegians” is again a coach in “Red Lins.” He is the only memper of the cast who is more than twenty-five. On the same programme is another chapter of the ever amusing Collegian series .starring George Lewis and Dorothy Gulliver.
