MONTHLY MEETING HELD. SUPERANNUATION SCHEME. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust was held on Thursday evening, the chairman, Mr. G. Selby presiding. There were also present Messrs T. Wagg, D. Oasolberg, J. L. Hughes, D. M.'Douglas, J. M. Coraidine, ’R. Krahagen and W. H. Jackson. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £l5B 18s. Bd. in No. 1 Account and a debit balance of £l3 12s. 4<L in No. 2 Account. The rentals for the month totalled £BO2 2s. 9d. Roconimendations from the Wairarapa High School, Masterton Technical School and Lansdowne School for grants for the purchase of school books for four pupils were approved. Another recammemdation for assistance to. a Hilgh School pupil was referred to the Education Committee. The Rev. J. Cocker, secretary of the Methodist Children’s Home, wrote askin."- the Trust to make a grant for books for this year, forwarding the balance sheet showing a credit balance of £502 4s. 2d., as at December. 31, 1928. With reference to a previous "■rant, of £lO made by the Trost far books to the ' Methodist Children.’s Homie,*' on the motion of Mr. J. LI high os, it was decided to ask the secretary of the home to supply a balance sheet covering the grant, the request for the coming year to be held over until a reply was received. The secretary of the Te Oro Ore School Committee wrote applying to the Trustees for a grant towards installing an electric pump at the school being advised to do so by the Education Board, and enquiring whether the ischool was entitled, to a capitation grant this year. It was .decided to reply that as the school was out of the Masterton Small Darin Area the Trust was unable to make a grant. An offer by a Trust tenant in a Queen Street shop to pay eoghtpOT cent interest per annum if the Trust would place a new front in his shop was referred to the Building and Leasinc Committee. Two other leasing matters were also referred to the same committee. Mr Hughes stated that the Lrust grants made to schools for stationery and books were to be expended by March 31. A schoolmaster had waited, on him stating that as there was a hold up in the printing some of the text books required, would not be procured before that date. He suggested, therefore, that a period of grace be granted. It was decided to extend the period, bv three months. Mr. Krahagen suggested that the Trust- establish a superannuation fund, for the secretary for £lOOO, the secretary to pav 25 per cent of the premium. On the suggestion of Mr. W. H. Jackson the matter was referred to the Finance Committee.
