CARTERTON SALE Messrs A7right, Stephenson and Co, Ltd., report: A fair entry of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. The attendance was good, and sheep sold at par rates, although cattle were somewhat easier. Following are particulars of our sales: w.f. shorn lambs, 17s 3d; b.f. lambs, 16s 3d; store cows, £3 to £5; weaner pigs, 9s to. Ils 6d; porkers, 25s to 275. The W.F.C.A. report that a fair yarding of sheep and cattle was yarded and offered to the usual attendance. The competition for sheep was hard throughout, but we disposed of our offering with the exception of one pen at the following prices:—Two-tooth ewes, 28/6; b.f. lambs, 18/- to 18/8; 1 wether and m. ewes 27/-; 5 wethers and 1 m. ewe, 26/7; 1 fat lamb, 22/-; 38 shorn lambs 14/1, 32 at 12/1; 2 S.D. rams, 2gns. Cattle: One second calver, £6 2/6; 1 springing heifer, £7 5/-; heifer, (calved) £7; fat cow, £5 4/-; forward cows, £3 13/-; potter bulls £5 2/6 to £7 10/-. Pigs: Weaners, 8/- to 14/6; slips, 18/6; porkers, 35/6; sow, £3 5/-; empty sow, £2; sundries at late prices.

ALFREDTON SALE. The W.F.C.A. report having held their Alfredton sale yesterday, when they offered a small yarding of sheep. Their entry comprised mostly lambs, which were sold under the hammer with good competition, at the following prices:—lo6 wether lambs, 19/9; 132 do., 18/7; 33 small lambs, 14/8; potter rams, 12/-; weaner dairy heifers, £2 1/-.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report hayingoffered an entry of about 1000 sheep at their sale yesterday. Fairly good prices were realised throughout, especially for white face lambs. A line of 366 4-tooth wetheiis on account of Messrs Hull Bros., sold at 26s 10d, which price seemed to be in purchaser’s favour. On account of the same client 188 5year ewes, 235. On account of Olapham Estate, 191 medium 2-th ewes, 31s. Account S. M. George, 117 medium shorn ewe lambs, 21s 6d; 130 wether do, 16s sd. Other venders: 61 medium m.s. lambs, 16s 9d; 2'l 2-th 1 wethers, 27s 6d; 21 m.a. S.D. rams, 14gns to 4 gns; weaner Hereford steers, £5 ss.
