TO-DAY’S CARNIVAL.

MANY ATTRACTIONS Many attractions are included in the eanniwal to be staged to-day in the Mastcrtom Park Oval, under the auaq>ices of the Park Lighting Committee. The-star ev.,->H of the aiternoon will be T. seven-aside Bugby tourney, for [which all the Wairarapa senior teams 'and others have entered, including the [Aithlietic Club. In addition to the tourney, kicking competitions will also prove a popular item of the afternoon’s programme. A shield will be prcecr.tod to the winners of the tmrrnamenit and the individual members of the team will each secure trophies. The kiek<ff will take place promptly at 2 pnm A trophy -s also offered for the highest aggregate in tho kicking competition. The prizes will be presented to the winners by the Mayor, Mr T. A procession from the Mun?bipal Buildings at 7.30 p.m. will herald the , evening’s programme. It will be headed by the Masterton Municipal Band, Mid a full muster of firemen will also be in attendance The judging of the latiU-rn and umbrella parade, which will form the chief feature of the procession w-ill take place at 8 p.m. at the Park Several novcJty athletic and cycling events wiH take place in the evening and three should prove very popular. Tom Oakley, the Mastertan erack cyclist, will also endeavour t< beat his own mile record. He will be j-aced in each lap by a fresh man. Wellington riders will be competing in the cycling events.
