PRIMARY EDUCATION.
MEETING OF CENTRAL SCHOOL COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Central School Committee was held last evening, Mr. J. E. MeV. Calwell (chairman) presiding, there being also present: Messrs A. Williams, F. Whitton, G'. L. Scrivener, R. Russell, and C. Braggins. Routine business was transacted and the fiancial position was considered satisfactory. The head master submitted a report of the attendance, and of repairs required and the matter of attending to easing windows, renewing sash cords, etc., was left in the hands of the chairman to attend to.
Messrs. Nicol, Freeman and Scrivener were appointed visiting members for the ensuing month. The headmaster's report showed that the average attendance for the quarter up to March 8 was 519, the average roll number 545, and the percentage J 5.
