CARNIVAL IN PARK.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY r The carnival arranged by the Park i Lighting Committee, to take place o® rhe Master.ton Park Oval on Saturday • will provide the last opportunity this r season of seeing cyclists in action and , the first opportunity of witnessing - Rugby. The seven-aside tournamemt ’ which is to be held in the afternoon *»hould be well worth seeing. All rhe senior players in the Wairarapa will be taking part and valuable trophies , are offered. Considerable interest i« t being taken in the kicking competi- [ tion to take place in the afternoon. . The competition covens place kicking ■ from the side-line and from the centre, , drop-kicking from both side-lines and . distance punting down both lines. i The main attraction m the evening i will be a Fire Brigade demonstration. An engine and team will be seen in ac- * tion in a night alarm event, fighting a Jrealistic 'nutation of a fire. A procession will start from the Municipal Buildings at 7.30 p.m., headed by the Municipal Band and a full muster of firemen. A novel athletic programme has also been arranged for the evening
