NEW ZEALAND ARMY MEETING OPENS. 5 IMPROVED MARKSMANSHIP RECORDED. YESTERDAY’S RESULTS. TRENTHAM, March 12. On account of the number of practices in each stage of the Army and Cabet championships of the New Zealand Army Rifle Association, the prize lists were not completed till the evening. The marksmanship discloses an improvement over that of last year, being ten points better. The Army Championship was divided into two classes, the first being for officers and members of units other than Territorials, and the second for the Territorial rank and file, the latter only being eligible for the Belt. In the first stage of the Cadet Championship, comprising deliberate, snapshooting, rapid and moving target at 200 yards, possible 125 points, F. Jane (Hawke’s Bay), 105, was first, taking £2; J. Fuller (Waikato), 99, second, taking 30s; and H.
