The cricket match was resumed in fine weather on an excellent wicket. In the second innings the Australian Eleven made 243 (Jackson, 61; Nothling, not out, 29). England in the second innings lost two wickets for 118 (Hobbs, not out, 67; Sutcliffe, 31). England won by eight wickets and one run. Tate, who took three wickets for 65 runs and Ge>ry who took three for 42. were England’s best bowlers, the Aus, tralian.tail collapsing badly. |Hooker and Bettington gave a good display of bowling for Australia and it will not. be surprising to see them playing later in Tests. Duckworth’s wicket-keeping was a feature of the match. This is the| first game England has won during the tour. —(Australian Press Association.)
