PAHIATUA SALE The W.F.C-A. Ltd. (stock department) report on the Pahiatua sale as follows: A medium yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs was submitted to a po-or attendance of buyers. We quote: M.S. hoggets', 25s 4d; ewe hoggets, 24s 6d; b.f. hoggets, 21s; cow in profit, £lO ss: springing cow, £9; Jersey weancr heifers, £4; store pigs, 25s to 265.

CLEARING SALE The Wairarapa. Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association Ltd. (stock department) report having held a very successful clearing sale at Lonigbush yesterday on account of Mr. C. Van Praagh. The herd of cows came forward in very good condition, buyers being present from all parts of the district. Herd-testing buttprfat returns were announced with each lot offered, competition being particularly keen for all those with outstanding records, those producing 300 lbs and better realising from £l2 to £2l, the better price being paid for one which produced 469 lbs. butterfat last season. A fair number of late calvers made £5 15s, £6 to £7 10s; medium sorts, £8 to- £ll 15s; the herd of 85 head, including a few light quarter cows, making the satisfactory average of £9 Bs. per head. Best springing heifers, £8 to £10; late calvers, £5 17s 6d, £6 15s to £7 ss; 17 yearling heifers, £4 2s 6d; 4 do, £2 15s; 1 7 year gelding, £l4; 1 do mare, £l2; 1 aged gelding, £lO-; 1 4-ycar gelding, £2O; 1 aged hack, £8; 2$ H.P. Anderson. engine, £25 10s; discs, £9; d.f. plough, £7; mower, £6 15s; spring tip dray, £4 ss; other numerous sundries at late clearing sale rates.
