WOMEN’S DIVISION.
INCREASING ACTIVITIES OF MOVEMENT APPEAL FOR MORE MEMBERS Mrs. C. C. Jackson, Dominion treasurer of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, at a luncheon given by the Masterton branch of the Division yesterday, made an appeal to those present on behalf of the division. The Women’s Division, Mrs. Jackson went on to state, now employed twenty housekeepers and one nurse. The housekeepers were employed all over New Zealand and the nurse was doing splendid work in the King Country. The organisation had been at work for a year, and during that time £250 had been spent in travelling expense<s and salaries. The number of housekeepers was steadily increasing and the money required was increasing proportionately. Mrs. Jackson went on to observe that tire Division had been honoured by the acceptance of tho office of patr«.n by Her Excellency, Lady Alice Fergusson. In May all the branches in the Wairarapa would hold their annual meetings, and Mrs. Jackson asked all (members to attend and to endeavour to obtain five new members each.
