W.C.T.U.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the W.C.T.U was held in Knox Hall on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs J. Cocker presiding. The president expressed the union’s thanks to Miss Tankersley for use of her homo for the Garden Party held on March 17. It had been found necessary, she said, to postpone the afternoon previously arranged for mothers of Cradle Roll members. The function would now be held during the school holidays in May. The first meeting of the year in connection with the Loyal Temperance Legion is to be held on the last Friday in April and is to take the form of a tea to the children. Mesdames Ross, Willoughby and McGregor are to act as committee in charge of tea arrangements.

In connection with the report of delegates to the Dominion Convention, it was arranged to hold an “At Home” at the Congregation! Hall on Thursday afternoon, April 19. A social committee consisting of Misses Jones and Jackson and Mrs Smith was appointed to arrange ai programme of music, and Mesdames Jackson, Cocker and Jones were appointed hostesses for the afternoon.
