THIEVES RAID GRAMOPHONE SHOP. MONEY AND RECORDS STOLEN. AUCKLAND, April 21. Burglars broke into Howie's music shop in Upper Queen Street last night. An entrance was effected by a rear window. A sum of £1 was taken from a cash register. On either side of the main shop are shelves where thousands of gramophone records are stocked in classified pigeon holes. Evidently the thieves were in search of some particular records for they removed about 5000 discs in their search for them. Instead of replacing the ones they did not desire, they carelessly threw them on the floor, many being smashed. Both the front shop and demonstrating room presented a scene of confusion. Records, needles and other accessories littered the floors. Five reproducers, worth £3O, and many records have been stolen.—(P.A.)
