LABOUR ORGANISING
TO OPPOSE REFERENDA PROPOSALS.
REGARDED AS ATTACK ON TRADE UNION LIBERTY.
MR CHARLTON ASKED TO EXPLAIN HIS ATTITUDE.

SYDNEY, July 21.—An all-Austra-lian Labour Party Congress has been called for August 7 to endeavour to secure a united party opposed to Mr S. M. Bruce's referenda proposals. Mr. Charlton (Premier of N.S.W.) has been asked to attend and if he does so he will be-asked to explain the attitude he has adopted so far in regards- to the proposals in New South Wales.
The Executive of- the Australian Labour Party has -issued a manifesto urging the workers to vote against Mr Bruce’s- proposals and in; it describes the proposals as the most, tastardly attempt ever made upon, the liberty of Australian: Trade Unions.—-(P.A.)
