MASTERTON EFFORT. A special - meeting a£ the executive and supporters: of the Masterton branch of the British!; and Foreign Bible Society was-held'yesterday afternoon at the residence,- off Mrs; Hugh Beetham, Cole street, to make arrangements for the annual ’ effhrt; The Rev. J. Davie presided over, a large and enthusiastic attendance of ladies,, and there were also'.present, th'e Rbv. W. Beckett and the Rfev. E. ,W. Weymouth. Apologies fom-absence • were received from the Beva. G. Kiitg,- W.. Bullock and J. Datson.
Mrs. F.' Berter, organising secretary, Wellington- delivered a most interesting- addrese-on the-work and activities of :lhe -Society and' the wonderful work achieved ’ throughout the world during die past - year, Ub was decided to commence the - collection campaign in the Mastertail:- district at the beginning of August. The dhte of the annual meet- ; Ing was fixed! for September 1. A dainty afternoon; tea was served by the hbstess, who was accorded a hearty vote-off thanks-for her kindness.
