WEDDING.

KNOWLES—POINTON. A very pretty wedding; was solemnised at St. Augustine’S. Church, Napier, on the evening of July 7, the contracting parties being Gladys Ellaline, second daughter of Mrs. A. and the late Mr. F. Pointon, off Baffles street, Napier, and Leonard Alfred, third son of Mr. W. F. Knowles, Carterton. The bride, whoantored the church on the arm of her. brother, Mr. G. C. Pointon, looked charming in her bridal frock of white brocaded crepe-de-chine with godets and sleeves of georgette. She wore the usual: bridal veil and orange blossoms, and l carried a beautiful shower bouquet of pale pink and white stocks and maiden hair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Muriel Pointon, who wore a pretty vieux rose erepe-de-ehine and floral georgette frock, with silver bandeau. Little Joan Pointon,, youngest sister of the bride, made a dainty flower girl, dressed in a saxe blue velvet frock, trimmed with swansdown. She carried a basket of gold flowers and wore a gold hair band to tone. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr W. E. Knowles, as best man. A reception was held at the residence of the bride’s mother, “Dafefielid,”' where the usual toasts were honoured.

Later, the happy couple left for Wanganui and New Plymouth, where the honeymoon was spent. The- bride travelled in a midnight blue rep coat frock and navy blue hat and eream wrap coat. The future residence will be at Dalefield, Carterton.
