Grundy returned to Masterton last evening. They intend to reside here permanently. Miss Madge Carrick (Upper Plain) has left Masterton to join the nursing staff of the New Plymouth Hospital. Mr C. McLaughlan, who, with Mrs McLaughlan, was on a visit to his parents at Petone, has undergone an operation for appendicitis. It will probably be three weeks before his return to Eketahuna. The engagement is announced of Miss Thelma Hodder, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Hal Hodder, formerly of Dalefield and Belvedere, to Mr Bertie William Renall, only son of Mr and Mrs W. A. Renall, “ Westbourne,” Parkvale. Mr H. Divers, secretary of the Dun edin Rugby League, has been nominated by that body as financial manager of the New Zealand team for England. Mr Divers organised the recent big art union in aid of the League funds.
