MAN ELECTROCUTED.
FATALITY AT FEILDING. SECOND IN TWELVE MONTHS. FEILDING, Jan. 6.—Joseph Southec, a married man with three children, was electrocuted this afternoon. Death was almost instantaneous. Deceased was employed by the ZMaiiawauu—Oroua Power Board and 1 was engaged with a gang on the work of changing over the local system, ,which had previously been owned by the Borough. Southee was working near the top of a pole and came in contact with a live wire. He- fell back on to the other wires. Rescue was immediate, but attempts at resuscitation failed. This is the second fatality in Feilding amongst'employees of the Power* Board within 12 months.—(P.A.) A FATAL FALL. DUNEDIN, Jan. 6.—An electric lineman, Alex. Miller Duff, aged 17 years, was killed by falling from an cleetrifc pole at Outram this afternoon. He was conveyed to the Dunedin Hospital in an unconscious condition and died about two hours after. —(P.A.) SHOCK FROM POWER-LINE. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 6.—While working on an electric line pole At Mount Somers yesterday, an Ashburton Power Board employee named Marshall received a shock from a 6000volt wire. He was unscrewing a nut, when the spanner slipped, and his shoulder came in contact with a live wire. He was badly burnt, and in falling to the ground, a distance of 20 feet, broke his thigh.—(P.A.)
