DUNEDIN EXHIBITION
TWO BIG EVENTS. COMPETITIONS AND AXEMAN’S CARNIVAL. DUNEDIN, Jan. s.—Two big popular attractions begin to-day—the championship competitions festival and the grand axeman’s championship carnival. The competitions prize money is the biggest ever offered in New Zealand and the Exhibition contest has attracted the cream of the Dominion’s talen. Competitors have been left free to select their own pieces, so that evcey event will be interesting.
The axeman’s carnival will be held under the blaze of powerful are lamps. All the well-known New Zealand axemen arid others from Australia are competing. The prize money is another record for the Dominion. The carnival will be the biggest of its kind ever held in Australia or New Zealand.—-(PA )
