MASTERTON SALE. The N.Z. Farmers’ Dist., Co., Ltd., report: We held our usual weekly sale at Masterton yesterday when we offered a good yarding of sheep (mostly, hoggets) to a good attendance. A buyer from Wanganui was operating and secured the bulk of the yarding. Prices were:—Account of Mr R. Harris, shorn w.f. hoggets 30/9, Down hoggets 28/8. Account of Mr N. Wyeth, fat Down 2-tooths £2, other w.f. hoggets 22/ to 27/6, Down hoggets small 20/ to 23/, good store wethers 37/7, m.a. ewes in lamb to S.D. 31. Account Mr H. W. Lee, 18month steers £7 2/6. .

Dalgety and Co., Ltd. ( report:—A small entry of sheep was submitted to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition was particularly keen, with a sharp rise in prices for all classes of sheep. Medium mixed sex hoggets made 29/, and empty ewes 25/6.

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Masterton, report having held a very successful clearing sale of dairy cows at Greytown on account of Mr F. V. Kempton. The cows, which were a particularly good lot, came forward in tip top condition and, being mostly August ealvers, met with keen competition. Prices ranged up to £l7 5/, with the excellent average of £l2, this being easily the highest average price realised in the district thia season. Heifers close to profit also sold well at prices up to £9 15/, Jersey bulls made 14 to 20 gns, draught horses £32 to £36. W.T.C.A. The Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-op., Assn., Ltd., report on the undermentioned sales: On Monday we held a clearing sale of dairy stock on Recount of Mr A. Ksir at Kaitnna. There was a large attendance of buyers and other interested. There was a good demand for the bbst cows <iue August and September, these selling up to £l2 10/. A large number made from £8 to £ll 15/. Late calves* were not enquired for, these selling at from £4 10/ to £7 15/. A fair number had also been in profit for some time and only realised small prices. The heifers in calf were backward, and the line was sold at £5 per head. Horses were keenly competed for, a goed sort of ’ draught mare making £42. Pigs sold keenly, breeding sows making £6 15/ to £8 10/, slips 30/ to 36/, boar £4 15/, store pigs £2 3/. Implements, 13 Coulter drill £24, d.f. plough £2O, set discs £l7, mower £lO, spring dray £ll 10/. A host of sundries and tools at good clearing sale rates. _

At Pahiatua on Tuesday we yarded a good offering of sheep and dairy cattle (principally springing heifers) and report a good clearance at late rates: 47 ewes r.wt SJ>. ram 39/9, 30 do 36/6, 130 aged do. 26/10, 50 woolly hoggets (good) 31/, 78 do 27/, 19 ewe do 34/, 70 medium hoggets 25/4, 30 do 26/5, 19 wethers 36/9, 58 small hoggets 22/, several other small lots at late rates; 26 spg. heifers in lots £6 to £9 15/ (10 at this latter price); store cows and yearling heifers at usual prices. At Masterton yesterday we sold two small lines of sheep as follows: 58 store ewes 21/1, 67 forward do 29/7.
