SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS. (“The Age” Special.) Rate Demands. The rate demands for the Carterton Borough were issued yesterday. The unimproved rateable value >is £94,039. New Industry. The prospectus is in circulation in the South Wairarapa for a new industry to be incorporated under The Companies Act, 1908, and to be known as “Masterton Flower Pots, Limited.” The objects of the company is to acquire the patent rights of a flower pot, and to manufacture and sell same. It is not proposed, according to the prospectus, at present to manufacture the flower pots, but a contract has been arranged with the Carterton Brick and Tile Company to manufacture the pot, the contract being subject to revision at the end of six monthsMiniature Rifles.
The final match between the Featherston ladies and the Carterton team was fired at Carterton, on Tuesday evening with the result that the ladies won by one point. The scores were: —Misses M. Nix 100; O. Nix 98, F. M. Bish 98, Mesdames Greathead 98, McNab 97, Crawford 97, Misses N. Buane 97, E. Chalmers 94, Mrs Hazleman 91, Miss E. Hodder 98, total 968. Carterton.—W. Chew 99, 8.
