FARMING NOTES.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., state that the following arc the opening dates of further London wool sales! — July 7, September 15, November 24.

The Dannevirke Jersey Breeders Cattle Club, whose district extends from Waiaruhe to .Waipuknrau, is asking the Dannevirke A. and P. Association to allow its representatives on the general committee of the A. and P. Association without election.

At the third Auckland wool sale on Tuesday the catalogue will include about 10,600 bales. Many elips expected to come to hand have been shipped to England owing to southern reports indicating a drop in price locally. The prices at the third sale are always lower than at the earlier fixtures as there is a good deal of rough wool from the back blocks included and seedy wools are much more in evidence. Brokers decline to predict prices.

The Wellington Education Board yesterday discussed the necessity for increasing interest in agricultural education, and a committee was appointed to draw- up a report and submit it to the commission now sitting. Members thought that every child should have a grounding in agricultural matters, and the boards should encourage agricultural science. Country hoys should be kept in the country and city boys encouraged to go there. There was need for research, and the problem had to be treated seriously.
