THE REFORM LEAGUE.
BRANCH FORMED AT PAHIATUA. A meeting held at Pahiatua for the purpose of forming a branch of the New Zealand Political Reform League was largely attended. Mr P. Tulloch was in the chair.. Mr D. Hebenton, national organiser, spoke upon the necessity of ensuring stable political conditions in New Zealand. He referred to the manner in which Mr Massey had steered the Dominion through its difficulties and the high esteem in which he was held by the thinking people of the Empire. The Pahiatua seat had been lost by only a small margin at the last election and with the growing feeling in favour of the Government, he was sure Reform would be successful. at. the next appeal. It Was decided to form a branch of the League in Pahiatua, all those present enrolling. On the motion of Mr S. Bolton S resolution was passed sympathising with Mr Massey in his illness, and, asuring him of the continued supportof the party in the Pahiatua electorate.
A motion was also passed unanimously confirming the selection of Mr A. McNicol as the official Government candidate.
