THE MARKETS.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on recent sales as follows.—At Carterton on Monday a good yarding of cattle and a small entry of sheep was submitted to the usual attendance. Competition was about on a par witih late sales and a clearance was effected at the following prices:— Fat woolly bf hoggets 45/, shorn do. 31/6, fat cows £6 to £5 5/, forward cows £3 5/, <3 7/6, £3 15/ to £4 10/, cows and calves £4 12/6, store cows £2. At Pahiatua on Tuesday a medium entry, comprising several lines of 2tooth wethers, was submitted to a small attendance. Competition was dull, but we sold good 2-tooth wethers up to 33/ and cull ■wethers at 2,5/2.
