Dodge Brothers MOTOR CAR • .XIX U 1 \ a DETROIT, Dec. f.'9.—Dodge Bros, have completed * their first million cars in nine years and eleven days, car N 5 1,000,000 having left the assembly line December 13. Of this first million, dating back to December 4, 1914, more than 90 per cent, still are in service, a percentage which the factory reports after a careful check. This proof of longevity is really the feature of the manufacturing record, declare executives. In building the first million within ten years of the start of production, the factory claims a world’s record from the time standpoint. Oversold at the outsat, this condition has continued to now, though the plant has grown from 20 acres of floor space at the outset to 150 acres at the present time, and employing 20,060 men. With the new assembly plant placed in operation this year plant capacity has been increased to upwards of 1000 daily. Considering the number of cars lost through fire and other accidental means yearly, to have 90 per cent, in service out of a million cars after nine years, is the point of greatest satisfaction to the company. In almost every city in tb« United States, and in many cities abroad, Dodge cars in operation in 1915 and 1916 production, reports the factory, which have run over 100,000 miles.
