(Received 7.30 p.m.) New York, May s.—The Springfield Methodist Conference is considering a resolution asking Congress to defeat the 59 identical bills introduced by the liquor party and to strengthen the enforcement of prohibition by placing, prohibition agents under the civil service. The resolution aroused little objection and is regarded as certain of adoption. Father suggestions included the deportation of aliens and the disfranchisement of American citizens who presistently violate the prohibition and narcotic laws.—(A. and N.Z.)
