N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. A. BROOKS WINS OPEN. Wanganui, Sept. 23.—For the second day’s play the weather w r as fine, but a high wind upset several competitors on the outward journey. Light rain fell towards the end of the day. A. Brooks (Wellington) won the open championship, finishing up at the end of tho fourth round 2 strokes better than J. Black and A. Duncan (amateurs), J. A. Clements and F. Hood (professionals), with A. Ham another point away. Tho first 32 amateurs on the list qualified for the amateur championship match. Play for this commences to-morrow, also for the professional championship. N.Z. Open Championship and Qualifying Rounds N.Z. Amateur Championship:
