PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Plun’ ket Society held in the Plunket room was attended by Mesdames W. B. (.’kennels (presiding), J. Caselberg, J. Al. Coradine, R. Drummond, S. Gill, W. Wardell, E. H. Waddington and A. R. Clarkson (hon. secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames R. Beetham, D. Donald, R. O. Fairbrother, and « R. Page. The treasurer’s report was read and adopted. Accounts amounting to £62 9s 6d were passed for payment. The nurse’s reports for the months of July and August were read, showing many new cases. A letter was received from the Public Trust Office, Masterton, notifying the Society that £lOOO had been placed on trust at the above office, the income derived from same to be used for the general purposes of the society. The I donor’s name was added to the society’s list of life members. The society’s special thanks were ■ passed to the Borough Council for reI mitting the rental of the Municipal Social Hall, used for their annual meeting. The resignation of Airs J. Davie was accepted with regret. The society wish to thank Miss Butement for much valuable work done by her typewriting class at the Technical school. The following donations have been received:—Airs J. Hudson, parcel of clothing; Mr s R. Beetham, ss; Mrs Griffin (Te Ore Ore) ss; Airs A. V. Richards, ss; Aliss D. Robinson, ss; Mrs AlcGruddy, ss; Mrs A. A. Schofield ss; Airs J. S. Pinhey, ss. The hon. treasurer acknowledges the above subscriptions with thanks, ■ and begs to remind all members who | have not yet paid that subscriptions | may be left at the Plunket rooms, I Dixon street, or may be sent to Mrs • J. Caselberg, Sussex street.
