ADVENTURE IN MOROCCO. FLEET BOMBARDS COAST. (Press Association —Copyright.) Madrid, Sept. 21.—1 t is reported that a Spanish fleet of 6 cruisers and 12 destroyers is bombarding the hillside at. Alhucemas Bay with gas shells, clearing the way to the disembarka’tion of a large expeditionary force, which will fight its way south, while simultaneously 100,000 trbops from the Melilla front will advance westward. —(A. and N.Z.) SPAIN’S TROUBLES. , (Received 5.5 p.m.) Madrid, Sept. 21.—The military directory has issued a proclamation establishing martial law and authorising summary action against, seditionists, saboteurs and other plotters against the welfare of the State.—(Reuter.) SPANISH BANDITS. TO BE SHOT. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Madrid, Sept. 21.—De Rivera announced that three masked bandits, "#io were captured after the bank jobbery at Catalonia, will be shot. While the bandits’ motor cars were being pursued shots were exchanged and a white guard was killed. Soon after, the bandits’ motor car crashed into a- tree, and Hiree of the 6 occupants were arrested.—(A. and N.Z.)
