GOVERNMENT’S GOOD BARGAIN. Wellington, May 16. The Hon. W. Nosworthy says it has been decided to hold in abeyance for 12 months the question of entering into a scheme of immigration for the development- of land settlement. As to assisting immigration the Government has entered into agree men! with the Imperial Government which completely overshadows similar agreements made with other Dominions. The cost of passage for a man and wife and 4 cliildren (3 to 6 years) compares: Canada £72, Australia £96, New Zealand £36.—(P.A.)
