‘he account of his stewardship delivred by the President (Mr C. E. hiniell) to the Masterton Chamber of ‘ommerce yesterday was a very satisactory record of achievement. The Chamber has during the year tackled t least half a dozen subjects of prime importance io the. town and district. '<»n;e of the questions raised have ouched the interests of the town only, mt the Chamber has not taken the icw that Masterton is surrounded by i ring fence and that what happens n the district upon which it is depenlont does not affect it. In point of fact the movement in which it took he liveliest interest was brought foreword by a kindred body in the Lower Valley, and its successfuul outcome will benefit the whole district. The chamber recognises that Mr Daniell’s public spirit is by no means exhausted and it has accordingly paid him the compliment of askir/g for his services for another year.
