TROUBLE IN IRELAND.
THREAT TO SHOOT COLLINS. (Received 8.2’5 p.m.) London, March 13.—An armed gang held up Mr Michael Collins and party when they went to St. Finbarr’s cemetery, “Cork, to visit a Republican plot, threatening to shoot Collins if he persisted in the visit. Collins thereupon returned to the city, where a crowd of 20,000 gave him a reception.—(A. and N.Z.) CONFLICTING IRISH IDEALS. London, March I±.—Three representatives of the Irish Provisional Government have sailed for New York, to explain the Government’s policy to Irish-Americans. Two of de Valera’s group sailed in the same steamer to enlist the support of Irish-Americans in favour of a republic.
