OOSTERLAAK WINS 100 YARDS. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, March 11.—On the first day of the N.S.W. amateur athletic championship the weather was hot and the tracks were good. In the 100 yard s Oosterlaak went ahead at 30 yards and held the advantage to the finish.
Mile.—H. Grandemange 1, L. Tunley 2, M. Grandemange 3. Won easily. Time 4.36 245. Leathern (S.A.) made the early running but finished last.
Throwing the Javelin. —E. G. Sutherland 1, Payne 2, Reid 3. Running Broad Jump.—S. Y'oung 23ft 4in 1, R. White 2, A. Winter 3.
