PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
PROSPECTS OUTLINED.. (By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian-N.Z. Oable Association.) Received Yesterday, 12.20 o'clock. WASHINGTON, Dec. 17. Forces are beginning to liven up for next year's Presidential elections. Senator Hiram Johnston has en tered the ring for the Republican nomination. Mr Gerard, a former Ambassador to Germany, is almost certain to Ik a Democratic contestant. He declared he would not run if President Wilson came out for the third term, but few people expect President Wilson's health to'allow him to continue in politics. The general impression is that he will never resume a strenuous life. A third party is likely to enter the contest under the title of the Liberals.
