SUGAR OF MILK
A WAIRARAPA PROPOSAL. For some 6ix years past, the question of establishing p. sugar of milk plant in the Wairarapa has been under tho consideration of one of our progressive settlers, and as the result of hTe persistence in this matter, a meeting of tho shareholders of the Featherston Co-operative Dairy Factory is to be held in tho Featherston Town Hall, on Monday morning, to consider'the advisability of carrying into practical effect the proposal. We understad that this proposal is of far reaching consequences, being calculated to bring revenue of approximately £70,000 per annum into the district—and from what would otherwise be, and for too long a period Has beeo, waste product. Ti will be readily conceded that with th.i price being realised for sugar of milk the amount to be gained from the development of the industry is incomparably greater than what is "being received by feeding pigs and calves on whey. The importance of the question warrants dairy farmers giving the scheme to be submitted the closest' attention. —Grey town "Standard"."
