ROADS AND TRANSPORTS.
Sir Joseph Ward was not romafieing when 1 ho stated in tho north the other day that the future had great possibilities in the way of transport. Tho war will scarcely be over before mails and parcels will be carried by aircraft, from city to city, and frotn the chief centres to the backblocks. Fresh fish will also lie available from seaports where they are plentiful, and the cost of living should be materially reduced. The main aterial roads will probably be taken over bv the government and bo made available to motor lorries, which will bo in abundance. The transport of the liifuro will bo rapid and cheap, and the whole conditions of living nill undergo transformation. We may look forward to the coming years in New Zealand with the greatest confidence.
