THE FOOD PROBLEM.
The cables this morning indicate that the food ' problem in Britain has reached aai acute stage. Tho Minister of Agriculture has made an almost pathetic appeal to the farmers. He stated clearly that unless they responded tho war could not be continued. Britishers have responded in the past to every appeal that has been made, and it is not likely that they will fail in this critical hour of the nation 1 .? history. We are assured by.the Food Controller'that there will not be starvation so long as the farmers grow potatoes. The fate of Britain, therefore, rests with the farmer.
