A MOTOR ACCIDENT
ON THE EKETAHUNA ROAD
A motor accident which might have proved very serious occurred on the road between Masterton and Eketahuna shortly attor 7 o'clock last evening. A party of Masterton residents was returning from the Pahiatua races, where, in turning a somewhat sharp comer, the car dashed over an embankment and turned almost completely over. The whole of the occupants had a narrow escape, two of them being rendered temporarily unconscious. Mr A. H. Vile, editor of the "Age," was pinned beneath the car, and "jacks" had to bo procured from a neighbouring homestead before he could be extricated. His left leg was badly lacerated at the ' ankle, but fortunately no bones were broken. He is being attended by Dr. iCowie, and it will be some days before he. will be able to get abojit again.. The • other occupants of the ear escaped with cuts and bruises. The car was almost completely destroyed. .'
