MASTERTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

MEETING OF COUNCIL. i The monthly meeting .of the Council of the Ma-sterton Chamber of Commerce was -held in the A. and P. rooms yesterday afternoon, there bd* ing present Messrs', C.. E. Danielf . (president), H. H. Donald, J. Milne; J. B. Keith, G-. C. Summerell, D. -M.Graham, D. K. Logan and R. Brown. The treasurer reported accredit balance at date of £3l 3a 3d, with a contingent liability of £26 towards a mail subsidy. ; - A communication was received from the Palmerston North Chamber, asking for co-operation in making representatives to the Minister of Railways on the matter of the freight on wool I which was returned from the.place of sale. —On the motion of Mr Milne, - seconded by Mr g-ummerell, it was deeded to support the action of the Palmerston Chamber in the matter. ■ Tho Masterton Borough Council forwarded a copy of a.resolution passed by the Council, dealing with stock routes.—Mr Summerell, said complaints were made that drovers were nob allowed to 'use Dixon Street for tbe droving of sheep. !He thought the complaint a reasonable one. —The communication was referred to the sub-committee set up to deal .with the matter.
