THE ALPINE FATALITY.
A BODY FOUND. (B# TeUgraph— Prut Aeiociation.} TIMARU, Last Night. Word was received in Timaru at 10 30 o'clock this'' morning that the body of Richmond, one of the guides lost on the Silberhorn, Mount Cook, on Sunday, has been found. There is no trace of King, the tourist, or Thompson, the other guide. No details have yet come to hand. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The Hon. R. „H. Rhodes has received the following message from Mr B »M. Wilson at the Hermitage : "Chief Guide Graham has just returned to the Hermitage. Ho found the body-of Guide Richmond, but no sign of'tho others.- The party had been overwhelmed by an avalanche falling on to Loncla Glacier from the top of the dividing range north of Dampierand sweeping the valley for about a mile. Richmond's watch was smashed at 4.50 o'clock, which was about the time the party expected to bo ra the vicinity. Graham does not consider there is any chance of finding the bodies) of King and, Thompson." ' « .
