EMMERSON'S APPEAL. UPHELD BY A.J.C. COMMITTEE. Received This Morning, 12.30 o'clock. SYDNEY, February 24. The Australian Jockey Club Committee considered the jockey Emmerson's appeal in connection with his suspension on January 6th, and found that the handling of the horee Strathfield by Emmerson was most, unsatisfactory, but there was an element of doubt as to whether he rode with the dishonest intention of preventing the horse, from winning. In views of this and his previous good character the appeal would be upheld. Besides removing Emmeyson's suspension the decision also removes the cfisqealifications of 12 months imposed on Tyrrel, the trainer, and the horse, Strathfield.
