THOWIPION-PAYNE PICTUREI. -IN A WOMAN'S POWER." The change of programme to bo screened at tho popular Thompson- J P.ivno Theatre this evening comprises j si well-varied and excellent all-round ( .series. Pride of place will bo held hv it 2500 foot drama entitled "In A Woman's Power." He is imprisoned for ten years, but after four is released on parole* and marries the daughter of his landlady. He meets his ancient flame, who threatens to hand him over to the police, and during the excitement liecomes a maniac. On her deathbed I she is forgiven by the man and the wife. A Kalem drama entitled "The Battle in tho Virginian Hills" will bo j an interesting subject, being the .story of ji bitter'feud and its results. "Tracked -to the Sandia Mountains" is a. Frontier release giving a realistic idea of Western life. An interesting domestic study will be given in tho Rex Company's "In tho- Blood," j while the Selig production of "Tho Scales of Justice" will alsd form an interesting feature. Honest John Kennedy is presented with a medal for efficiency and bravery by the (ward of police commissioners. He becomes engaged to Polly McGuire, and by so doing incurs the revengeful enmity of "Slippery" Jim Quinn, the political boss of the ward in which Polly lives. Quinn, who has eyes for Polly, much to that young lady's displeasure, threatens to undo Kennedy before another week has passed. He plans n, "frame-up" on Kennedy, and with the aid of a marked fifty dollar bill and a well-known crook, manages I to place Kennedy in such an embarassing position that the policeman, although innocent, is discharged from the force for accepting a bribe. Now Polly turns against him, believing him to bo dishonest. Through a strange change of circumstances, Kennedy rescues tho wife and child of the crook who implicated him and caused, liis discharge. Moved by the occasion, the crook gives Kennedy evidence necessary to convict Quinn, the man higher up, and Kennedy re-. instates himself in his old position on tho force, after which' Polly again returns her love and hand. An interesting study will be given in "The Busy Bee," an English industrial film •showing tho wonderful works of our little friends. The Eclair Journal will show the latest fashions and topical events. Two interesting scenes will be sholwn in "The Golden Shell" and "The American Rhine." A well-se-lected variety of comedies will include "Polidor in Danger," "The Tyrant Husband," "Bloomer.a Negro," and ■"The-Way of Life."'
