We are pleased t-o report a total clearance at the following rates : Cull lambs 5s Id to G.s Id, s.iii. era to 9s Del, aped ewes 8s Gd, heifer calves £1 1-1 s, steer calves £1 12s, mixed calves £1 10s, milk cows £8 10s. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Solway stock sale held yesterday as follows: We yarded 3000 sheep of various sorts, but- mostly comprising good line's of j breeding and rape lambs, an<l have to report on the whole a satisfactory sale. There was a good attendance of the public, and although buyers were acting with . a considerable amount of caution, owing to ' the meat strike, prices were a great -deal li-etter than anticipated, and although a drop in values was inevitable, it cannot be estimated higher than one shilling and sixpence per head. ' Quotations: Sound mcrath breeding ewes, good frames, lis 5d to lis 7d, poorer conditioned ewes down, to 5s lid, and dogs' meat 2s 4d, small 2-tooth wethers 12s to 12s sd, good conditioned' down lambs 10s 3d to 10,s lid, others 8s 9d, seedy to 9.s 6d, cull down lambs 7s id to 7s 4d, white face cull lambs 6s to 6s 110s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Solway sale as follows: A fairly good yarding of sheep were offered to a good attendance of buyers. - Prices for aged ew<?s, were rather easier, but good black faced rape lambs were iiy good demand, all■lines entered changing hands at prices which must be considered 'highly satisfactory. With the exception of one pen we had. a clearance at the following prices: Gull l.Tmbs 5s 8d to 6s, medium lambs 8s Id, best lines bl&ck faced lamlis to 10s 2d, aged ewes Bs, 2-tooth ewes ]2s to 13s 6d, six tooth ewes to 13s 7d, wethers 14s.
