NEWSPAPER OPINIONS. (Received Last Night, 10.40 o'clock.) LONDON, February 5. The newspapers are giving prominence to tho King's visit to the battleship New Zealand, a num'ber of long leaders having appeared. The Daily Mail says the visit will havle a deop historic significance. "The vessel," it say.s. "is a living proof that wo lirjvo great allies in tho kindred overseas. New Zealand's example is hearing splendid fruit, but the Dominion's generosity has,in nowise diminished the need for British exertion. If only five .battleships .r/e built in 1913, we will not 'have maintained tho sixty per cent margin." The Morning Post says that NewZealand has set a movement in train which bids fair to culminate in the organisation of a great defensive leaerne between tho self-governing States of the Empire. The growth of nationality will give the sentiment of lovalty throughout the Empire morn vigour and purpose. Experience, it; says, will show the best machinery to provide for united action.
