The captain of the Waipori has reported that a great'fire is sweeping over the big island of the Kent Group in Bass Straits. , He reports that he saw the glare eighty rau'les off, A GAOL DESTROYED. FIVE FIREMEN KILLED. Received April 14* 11.5 p.m. NEW YORK, April 14. A fire destroyed the Connecticut County Gaol. All the prisoners were removed to safety. Six firemen perished and five were injured.
