A YOUNG WOMAN ATTEMPTS TO COMMIT SUICIDE.

Inspector Dwyer, in asking for a remand, said the accused was in service v at Hastings, and last evening came into town by the express train, and between 7.30 and 7,45 p.m. was seen on the beach going into the sea. Two young men went in after her, and took her to the Police Station. He had communicated with her father in Mataura, and he would come up and look after her. Accused had been under treatment by a doctor. A remand was granted.
