Mr Clement Wragge says, basing his remarks on ths results of the Antarctic experiment, that northerly currents may be gradually undermining the high polar plateau of snow and ice, and the time may come in the far distant future when the weight of the plateau may give way and cause a tidal wave, producing far-reaching and disastrous results. "However,'' he adds, "people need net worry, as a tidal wave may not occur till after a thou&and years."
